Falcons' Abraham healthy; Panthers to play without OT Otah

All-Pro defensive end John Abraham, who sat out last week with a groin injury, was scheduled to start Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, giving the struggling Atlanta Falcons defense a boost in their matchup against rookie quarterback Cam Newton.

Abraham likely will square off against Panthers left tackle Jordan Gross with Jeff Otah (back) is inactive. Byron Bell, an undrafted rookie, will make his second start for Carolina in Otah's place at right tackle.

Panthers backup running back Mike Woodson was inactive for the second consecutive week, so Keoloha Pilares was set to return kicks.

Falcons center Todd McClure (knee) and guard Garrett Reynolds (ankle) will play. McClure and Reynolds both had been listed as questionable because of injuries.

Harry Douglas started at wide receiver for the Falcons, with top rookie Julio Jones inactive because of a hamstring injury. Roddy White, who had been listed as probable with a knee injury, was scheduled to start.
