Cardinals bring in QB St. Pierre, re-sign DB Ware

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals signed quarterback Brian St. Pierre to a one-year contract and re-signed safety Matt Ware on Monday.

St. Pierre was the third-string quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season. He was a fifth-round draft pick by Pittsburgh out of Boston College in 2003. He was with the Steelers for two seasons and appeared in one game before going to Baltimore in 2005. He rejoined the Steelers in 2006.

Ware appeared in 15 games for Arizona last season, with 12 tackles on defense and seven on special teams. He was claimed off waivers from Philadelphia on Sept. 3, 2006, and played in 14 games, one as a starter in 2006. Ware was a third-round draft pick of the Eagles out of UCLA in 2004.
