Bush sits out win over Packers as his left knee continues to heal

NEW ORLEANS -- Reggie Bush missed the New Orleans Saints' win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.

Bush, who had arthroscopic surgery Oct. 20 to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, has practiced intermittently the past two weeks and said last Thursday he hoped to be ready to play soon.

However, he rested on Friday and coach Sean Payton listed him as questionable, but Bush missed his fourth straight game.

The Saints are 3-1 in their four games without Bush and 3-4 when he played. Heading into Week 12, Bush remained second on the club in receptions with 42 for 366 yards and three touchdowns. He has 294 yards and two TDs rushing this season and has returned three punts for touchdowns, including two the last time the Saints played on Monday night, when they lost 30-27 to Minnesota on Oct. 6.

Running back Deuce McAllister, who had fluid drained from his left knee but was listed as probable late in the week, started at running back and scored on a 3-yard run for his 54th career touchdown, setting a New Orleans Saints record.

Wide receiver David Patten, who had not been listed on the injury report, was among the Saints' scratches.

Green Bay inactives included defensive end Jeremy Thompson (groin), who had been listed as probable over the weekend. The Packers said Michael Montgomery would start at right defensive end.
