Broncos RB White, OT Harris leave game with ankle injuries

The Denver Broncos, already thin at several positions, were hit again Thursday in their preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings.

Running back LenDale White was down for a while during the second quarter and gingerly walked off the field after being hurt on a 9-yard run. The Broncos said White's return was doubtful.

White was signed after his sudden release by the Seattle Seahawks to back up Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter in Denver. White must sit out the first four games of the regular season, his punishment for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

The Broncosalso tweeted that offensive tackle Ryan Harris suffered a left ankle injury and wasn't expected to return. The team already was keeping a close eye on All-Pro tackle Ryan Clady, who returned to the field Wednesday for the first time since he blew out his left knee during a pickup basketball game in April.
