Broncos CB Bailey misses third game of career with thigh injury

DENVER -- BroncosPro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey missed a game for just the third time in his career Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a left thigh injury.

Bailey was injured two weeks ago against San Diego and missed the second half of a 41-3 loss. The bye week wasn't enough time for Bailey to heal.

It was the first time Bailey missed a game since he was inactive for two games in 2005 with a pulled hamstring. Cornerback Domonique Foxworth took his place in the starting lineup against the Steelers.

Denver defensive end Simeon Rice was deactivated for the second straight game. Rice, signed just before the start of the regular season, has six tackles this season as he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery.

Broncos No. 1 receiver Javon Walker had arthroscopic knee surgery Friday and likely won't be back until December. Brandon Stokley started in place of Walker.
