Bolstering the line: Titans agree to terms with veteran Smith

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- An agent for Shaun Smith says the defensive lineman has agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans.

Neil Schwartz confirmed the deal to The Associated Press. Tennessee has declined comment on any deals until the team is able to sign veterans Friday afternoon.

Smith, an eight-year veteran, spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs and had 56 tackles and one sack with 10 starts. He has 208 tackles and three sacks in 79 career games.

The 6-foot-2, 325-pound lineman even scored a touchdown in a 42-24 win against the Seattle Seahawks last season, taking a handoff from Matt Cassel and running a yard to the end zone.

Smith was also fined $10,000 in September for grabbing San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis in the groin area.
