Bills backup RB White cleared to fly with team after injury

DENVER -- Buffalo Bills backup running back Johnny White was cleared to fly home after being carted off the field after getting hurt in the third quarter of a preseason loss to the Denver Broncos on Saturday night.

The Bills said after the game that White had been cleared at a Denver hospital and did not suffer a major injury.

White appeared to sustain a head or neck injury when linebacker Mario Haggan wrapped him around the waist and flung him to the grass on a first-down play six minutes into the second half.

White's helmet was driven into the ground. He lay motionless for several minutes while the team's medical staff strapped him to a body board and carted him off the field.

White moved his left hand as he was going up the tunnel after players from both teams had gathered around him.
