Chiefs switch receivers by re-signing Lawrence, cutting Bradley

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Tuesday that they had re-signed Quinten Lawrence to their 53-man roster and released fellow wide receiver Mark Bradley.

Lawrence, a sixth-round pick by the Chiefs in the 2009 NFL Draft, played in four games this season and returned 12 kickoffs for 237 yards before being cut Saturday. He also had one carry for 16 yards and a nine-yard reception.

Bradley played in 13 games, with six starts, for the Chiefs this season, catching 24 passes for 320 yards with two touchdowns. He also had two carries for 20 yards and seven kickoff returns for 123 yards.

Bradley joined the Chiefs as a free agent in 2008 after spending nearly four seasons with the Chicago Bears.

The Chiefs also placed tight end Brad Cottam on injured reserve with a fracture to a cervical vertebra. Cottam has full use of his extremities, the team said, and is undergoing further evaluation.

Cottam, a second-year pro, tied career highs with four catches and 62 receiving yards in Sunday's 41-34 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
