Week 9 injury report: Will Lions' Calvin Johnson play?

We handle all of the biggest injury news throughout Friday on Around the League. And then we round it all up here with a ton of new information in the internet's most popular injury report roundup that supports all donations to the American Red Cross in the wake of superstorm Sandy. Thanks.

  1. Jordy Nelson is a game-time decision, but we'd call the Green Bay Packers receiver something less than questionable with his hamstring injury, considering he didn't practice Friday. Receiver Greg Jennings (groin, abdomen), fullback John Kuhn (hamstring), linebacker Nick Perry (knee, wrist), cornerback Sam Shields (ankle), safety Charles Woodson (collarbone) and defensive end Jerel Worthy (concussion) are out for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Man, do the Packers need a bye week.
  1. The Baltimore Ravens listed 16 players as probable. That is essentially coach John Harbaugh's way of saying the injury report is meaningless without saying it. Except he did say it. Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is expected to play in a reduced role against the Cleveland Browns. He's questionable with a shoulder injury.

What's the best game on the Week 9 slate? The worst? Ian Rapoport provides a pecking order in his Rap Sheet Rankings. **More ...**

  1. Key Buffalo Bills starters tackle Cordy Glenn (ankle) and defensive tackle Kyle Williams (ankle) are both questionable after being limited in practice this week. The Bills need as much help as they can get when they travel to play the Houston Texans.
  1. Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon (foot) is out once again. Leonard Hankerson will continue to get chances to drop passes Sunday while facing the Carolina Panthers.
  1. Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker (left shoulder) is officially doubtful. Matt Hasselbeck will get the start again against the Chicago Bears.
  1. Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning made a cameo on the injury report with his right thumb problem this week. He's probable against the Cincinnati Bengals.
  1. Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson (knee) missed practice all week. He's cautiously expected to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars despite being listed as questionable.
  1. Just in case fantasy owners forgot, Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew remains out with a foot problem. He doesn't appears close to playing against the Detroit Lions.
  1. The Miami Dolphins list wide receiver Brian Hartline (groin) and quarterback Ryan Tannehill (knee) as questionable. They should take the field against the Indianapolis Colts.
  1. Minnesota Vikings receiver Percy Harvin (hamstring) and running back Adrian Peterson (ankle) both missed practice time this week, but they are listed as probable as the Vikes hit the road to face the Seattle Seahawks. Harvin missed practice because of a family issue.
  1. Seahawks receiver Braylon Edwards (knee) is out again for his homestand against the Vikings. Keep your comments fair, hospital workers of America.
  1. Pittsburgh Steelers running backs Jonathan Dwyer (quadricep) and Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) are both doubtful for the heavily anticipated matchup against the New York Giants. Translation for fantasy leaguers: Go get Ike Redman. Do it! Do it now!
  1. Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) is questionable to face the Steelers after missing practice Friday. At this point, we'd be more worried if Bradshaw didn't miss practice.
  1. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers should have their whole roster available against theOakland Raiders. That is all.
  1. Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray (foot) is out once again. Wide receivers Dez Bryant (hip) and Kevin Ogletree (hamstring) are both questionable. Bryant missed practice Friday. That's never a good sign, but we'd cautiously expect him to play Sunday night against the flawless Atlanta Falcons. He didn't practice in team drills all week.
