NFL asks for moment of silence for school shooting

The nation was shaken Friday by the mass shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. In the wake of the tragedy, the NFL has asked home teams to observe a moment of silent reflection prior to the national anthem before this weekend's games.

Many NFL figures used Twitter to share their feelings about the tragedy, which reportedly left 20 children dead.

Our condolences go out to all those affected by this terrible event. A very sad day.
