The agent for Jermichael Finley revealed in late May that the tight end had finally received full medical clearance following last October's career-threatening neck injury.
The problem is Finley has yet to convince NFL medical staffs and front offices that signing him is worth the risk.
The free agent told ESPN Wisconsin's Jason Wilde on Wednesday that his neck is in great shape now and he still hopes to return to Green Bay.
"This is the best I've felt in this entire crazy process," Finley said. "Tell everybody I'm working as hard as I can to get back to Packer Nation."
The Seahawks appeared to be Finley's next landing spot early in free agency. He has also drawn varying levels of interest from the Patriots, Raiders and Steelers.
Since mid-May, however, both Finley and the Packershave hinted that a reunion could be in the works if or when the team's doctors sign off on the 27-year-old's ability for full-contact activity.
Until that happens, coach Mike McCarthy will continue to roll with third-round rookie Richard Rodgers, who was one of the most impressive players in offseason practices.
