Eagles guard Landon Dickerson: I was 'complete liability' in Week 1 win over Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles offensive line played poorly in Week 1’s win over the Washington Commanders.

Three-time Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson, who is reportedly headed to injured reserve, took ownership for his part of the struggles during an appearance on WIP’s “Players' Lounge” show on Monday.

“I was a complete liability yesterday. Again, that was my fault,” Dickerson said. “I know I said earlier in camp, I shouldn’t be out there until I feel healthy. A few weeks ago, got rolled up on in practice. I thought as weeks went by it would get better. It didn’t and we kind of went out there and finally got some imaging on it today, figured out what was wrong with it.”

Dickerson has dealt with injuries the past several seasons, including a meniscus repair in August 2025. He played 15 games last season but was clearly not himself. The guard has admitted he shouldn’t have returned as early as he did. Now he’s hoping to avoid a similar issue.

The Philadelphia Inquirer and ESPN reported that Dickerson is expected to land on IR.

The 27-year-old described the injury as a bone bruise in his right knee. Dickerson didn’t officially confirm the move to IR, but he noted he’d “assume” the reporting is correct.

“Really the best plan going forward is to put me on IR so I can get this thing better to have a good stretch at the back end of the season versus kind of what happened last year, go out there limping through 18 weeks,” he said. “I don’t think anybody wants to see that again because that was just ugly. I don’t want to do that again because that was just some BS.”

Drew Kendall, a 2025 fifth-round pick, could fill in for Dickerson after a solid training camp. Willie Lampkin is another interior option.
