The Los Angeles Rams are adding a star cornerback to their defense.
The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to trade Trent McDuffie to the Rams in exchange for L.A.'s 2026 first-round draft pick (No. 29 overall), a fifth- and sixth-rounder this year and a 2027 third-round draft pick, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday.
McDuffie is expected to receive a new contract upon his trade to Los Angeles, per Rapoport. A 2022 first-round draft pick, McDuffie is currently set to play the 2026 season on the final year of his rookie contract.
In four seasons with the Chiefs, McDuffie has logged three interceptions and 34 passes defensed, while anchoring a K.C. defense that helped win two Super Bowl titles. McDuffie earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2023 (his second season in the NFL) and then was a second-team All-Pro in 2024.
The Rams still have the No. 13 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, a pick they acquired from Atlanta last April. The Chiefs now hold two first-round selections: Nos. 9 and No. 29 overall.
