Amid a sea of changes in Florham Park, N.J., the New York Jets are welcoming back a familiar face.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that outside linebacker Calvin Pace is returning to the team with a one-year contract, according to a source involved in the process. ESPN first reported the move.

It's not a surprising transaction. Jets beat writer Rich Cimini hinted Sunday that Pace would return after he was released in February to open up cap room. The Jets also signed former San Diego Chargers linebacker Antwan Barnes, but people inside the Jets' organization were in favor of re-signing Pace and still believe he can contribute.
Pace was on target to make north of $3 million this season before he was cut. His new contract likely will be an incentive-laden deal not worth nearly as much.
The 32-year-old Pace started 16 games for the Jets last season, but he struggled mightily against the run. ProFootballFocus ranked Pace 31st on a list of 34 outside linebackers playing in the 3-4 scheme.
