Sunday's wild-card showdown between the Colts and Bengals featured a pair of play-callers drawing interest from coach-needy teams.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport noted on Sunday's NFL Game Day Morning that Indianapolis offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton has netted interview requests from the Bills and Raiders. Buffalo also asked to speak with Bengals aide Hue Jackson.
It's no surprise to see either coach generating attention.
One source close to Hamilton told Rapoport: "I promise you he's going to impress any owner he sits down with. He is literally a machine with his wealth of knowledge."
Said Rapoport: "Pep Hamilton does understand the good thing he has with Andrew Luck (and) a young, talented skill-position group with the Colts. He is going to be a head coach eventually -- that he definitely believes -- so he can be a little choosy in doing so."
His stint with the Raiders in 2011 was a mixture of positives and negatives. He led Oakland to an 8-8 record -- which the team has failed to match since -- but Jackson also backed an expensive trade for Carson Palmer that cost the Silver and Black a pair of high draft picks.
"He knows he can't be as brash, especially publicly, as he was," Rapoport said.
