Winfield voted Week 5 GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Week

Cornerback Antoine Winfield of the Minnesota Vikings is the GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Week for games played on October 5-6.

Winfield finished with eight tackles and on one second-quarter play had a sack and forced and recovered a fumble to help the Vikings beat the New Orleans Saints 30–27 on Monday Night Football. Winfield also returned a blocked field goal 59 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Winfield was selected from among five finalists by voters on NFL.com/gmc. The other finalists were Colts linebacker Gary Brackett, Cardinals defensive end Travis LaBoy, Vikings CB Antoine Winfield, Texans defensive end Mario Williams and Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/gmc throughout the month of January.

Brackett's 68-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter sparked the Colts' stunning rally in a 31-27 win over the host Houston Texans.

 Arizona Cardinals

LaBoy and the Cardinals defeated the previously unbeaten Bills, 41-17. LaBoy led Arizona's defense with seven tackles and two sacks in the win.

Winfield recovered a blocked field goal and returned it for a 59-yard touchdown in the first quarter and on one second-quarter play sacked QB Drew Brees, forced and recovered a fumble on Monday Night Football.

Williams has become one of the NFL's top pass rushers and he put pressure on Peyton Manning, recording two sacks, in the Texans' 31-27 loss to the Colts.

Woodley led the Steelers with six tackles, including three for loss, and two sacks as the defense limited the Jaguars to only 213 total yards in Pittsburgh's 26-21 win.
