Rams coach Jeff Fisher has worked with some of the best defensive tackles in NFL history, but Aaron Donald showed him something on Sunday against the Seahawks that he's never seen before.
"The way Aaron Donald played, I can't remember seeing a tackle have an impact on a game the way Aaron Donald did in this game," Fisher said on ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike on Friday morning.
It was pretty incredible, especially considering that Donald was once viewed as undersized for the position, which caused him to fall to No. 12 in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Even with a chance at a draft do-over, NFL Media Analyst Bucky Brooks only saw Donald rising two spots to the Lions at No. 10 (assuming they didn't have a chance at Odell Beckham, Jr.)
Drafts have a way of working out this way, of course, and Donald might end up being the best part of a haul that netted them a treasure trove of picks for Washington's chance to draft Robert Griffin III. Though Donald's No. 12 pick was not from Washington, it allowed the Rams to select an offensive linemen earlier in the draft and simply use their original first-round pick on the best player available.
It is just one game into the 2015 season but Donald already looks like a better player than he was during a defensive rookie of the year campaign.
