What you need to know about the Week 4 injury report

Miles Austin's hamstring is a problem once again. The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver missed practice Friday, and the team declared him out for Sunday's game in San Diego. Wide receiver Dwayne Harris (hip) returned to practice and could start in Austin's place.

There was a lot of optimism surrounding Austin in the preseason, but he just can't stay healthy. It's hard to imagine the Cowboys keeping Austin around year after year if he's never healthy.

Here is the rest of the injury report news from Friday you need to know:

  1. Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. He's not expected back with the team for at least another week or two. Falcons left tackle Sam Baker (knee/foot), wide receiver Julio Jones (knee), cornerback Asante Samuel (thigh) and wide receiver Roddy White (high ankle sprain) are questionable.
  1. Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, officially listed as questionable, said Friday that barring any setbacks he might play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. We'd expect him to play.
  1. New York Jets running back Chris Ivory (hamstring) and defensive back Dee Milliner (hamstring) are both out. Look for Bilal Powell to start at running back for the Jetsagainst the Tennessee Titans.
  1. Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell (foot) is listed as probable. It sounds like he'll start against the Minnesota Vikings in London.
  1. The Bills upgraded Jairus Byrd (hip) to questionable. C.J. Spiller (quad) and Mario Williams (ankle) are both questionable.
  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers Vincent Jackson (rib) and Mike Williams (hamstring) both returned for a limited practice. Coach Greg Schiano said they are questionable for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. They should both play.
  1. Indianapolis Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) is out, which comes as a surprise. Coach Chuck Pagano said Bradshaw suffered a "significant blow." NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport said the team is in a wait-and-see mode with Bradshaw. Look for Trent Richardson to get a big workload against the Jaguars. Safety LaRon Landry (ankle) is out once again.
  1. Cardinals linebacker Kevin Minter (hamstring) and nose tackle Dan Williams (personal) have been ruled out. Safety Rashad Johnson (finger) is questionable and has said that if he plays he will wear a full ball cast on his hand.
  1. Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman said Friday the team is "reasonably optimistic" cornerback Charles Tillman (knee/groin) will play versus the Detroit Lions. Tillman officially is questionable.
  1. The Cleveland Browns should be without underrated pass rusher Jabaal Sheard (knee), who is doubtful. Brian Hoyer is starting again at quarterback for Brandon Weeden (thumb), who is officially out.
  1. The Cincinnati Bengals are very thin in the secondary. Leon Hall, Dre Kirkpatrick, and Reggie Nelson are all doubtful against the Browns because of their hamstring injuries. Vive la Hoyer!
  1. The New York Giants' offensive line remains ravaged. Center David Baas (neck) and guard Chris Snee (hip) are out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Tackle David Diehl (thumb) is doubtful.
  1. San Diego Chargers rookie linebacker Manti Te'o (foot) is probable, and it looks like he'll make his NFL debut Sunday. Offensive tackle D.J. Fluker (concussion) also is listed as probable.
  1. Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor officially was listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins. Oakland coach Dennis Allen told reporters that Pryor has made "significant progress" from the concussion he suffered Monday night. Pryor has been cleared to play, and he told reporters Friday that he feels "100 percent."
  1. Reggie Bush (knee) is back for the Lions. He's probable.
  1. Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey (foot) is questionable after practicing on a limited basis all week. He looks like he has a good chance to play. Tight end Joel Dreessen (knee) and safety Duke Ihenacho (ankle) also are questionable for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
  1. Seattle's offensive line is in rough shape. Left tackle Russell Okung is on injured reserve, with a designation to return. Right tackle Breno Giacomini (knee) and center Max Unger (arm) are doubtful for the Seahawks' game against the Houston Texans.
  1. The New England Patriots listed tight end Rob Gronkowski (back, arm) and wide receiver Danny Amendola (groin) as questionable. There are conflicting reports about whether they will play against the Falcons. UPDATE: Sources told NFL Media's Albert Breer on Saturday that neither Gronkowski nor Amendola traveled with the team to Atlanta for Sunday's game. The Pats later officially downgraded the two players to out.
