West Virginia's Kevin White has streak of 100-yard games end

West Virginia senior wide receiver Kevin White had his streak of 100-yard games end at seven, but it didn't matter to WVU as it downed Oklahoma State 34-10.

White (6-foot-3, 210 pounds) did catch a TD pass for the sixth game in a row, but he finished with just three receptions for 27 yards. He came into the game leading the nation in receptions (69) and receiving yards (1,020 yards).

WVU finished with 238 passing yards against what had been the Big 12's worst pass defense. The flipside: The Mountaineers ran for 210 yards in improving to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the league.

White's TD catch covered 19 yards and finished off WVU's first drive of the game. All three of his receptions came in the first quarter, and while he basically was shut down, he also was the focal point of Oklahoma State's secondary and all the attention paid to him helped receivers such as Mario Alford (seven catches, 136 yards, a touchdown) and Jordan Thompson (five receptions, 46 yards).

White has been compared to both Steve Smith and Larry Fitzgerald. In a tweet, NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah said the first comparison "that came to my mind was a super-sized Steve Smith." In September, NFL Media analysts wrote that they were "hearing a lot of Larry Fitzgerald comparisons" for White, and analyst Charles Davis wrote this week that "White is built similarly to Fitzgerald and has great hands to go along with a wide catch radius."

White and WVU play host to TCU next week in what has become one of the most important Big 12 games of the season.
