Washington State QB Connor Halliday rips Nick Marshall

How about a little smack talking after the game. From the losing locker room.

Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday says Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall can't throw the football. In the aftermath of a 31-24 loss to the Tigers, Halliday, according to spokesman.com, had this to say about Auburn's offense:

"They ran the ball really well," Halliday said. "If they could find a quarterback, they'd be a top-five team. They just don't have a guy who can throw it."

Halliday completed 35-of-65 passes for 344 yards, one touchdown, and three costly interceptions that helped key Auburn's season-opening win. Marshall, in his Auburn debut, completed 10-of-19 passes for 99 yards. Not exactly equal opportunities between the two, as Marshall relied more on a rushing attack and Halliday threw non-stop in Mike Leach's Air Raid offense.
