Dear Washington Redskins faithful: Your team's throwback uniforms have arrived.
The Redskins practiced in their new duds Wednesday and told NFL.com and NFL Network that they will wear them in Sunday's home game against the Carolina Panthers.
"Redskins owner Dan Snyder and his staff worked closely with Nike to create a look that spoke to the club's unique heritage, while highlighting several key details that helped define the team's history," the team said in a statement, according to The Washington Post.
Snyder and Co. chose a "darker color palate and updated numbering system" for a modern interpretation of the threads they wore in 1937, according to the Redskins.
The team chose to honor that season because it was quarterback Sammy Baugh's first in the league, and he led that year's Washington squad to an NFL championship. Seventy-five years later, Robert Griffin III grasps a similar goal.
