EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants safety Tyler Sash plans to meet with NFL Commissioner Rogers Goodell on Monday to discuss his four-game suspension for using a banned prescription drug in the offseason.
Sash said Sunday he is hoping that Goodell will listen to what he has to say and reduce his suspension, which is scheduled to cover the first four games of the regular season.
The league has already heard Sash's formal appeal and rejected it.
"They will hear me tomorrow," Sash said. "Right now, I'm suspended for four games."
Sash injured his left ankle in a light practice on Sunday. Coach Tom Coughlin said the second-year pro's ankle locked in the workout and he did not know the extent of the injury.
Sash was suspended for using Adderall in March. A doctor prescribed the drug to help him deal with anxiety while at public speaking appearances. They both said they were unaware it was banned by NFL policy.
Sash, 24, a native of Oskaloosa, Iowa, had 17 tackles last season.
