Titans GM has perfect question for NFL prospects

Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson has a pretty solid way of gauging what kind of future NFL prospect he's talking to during pre-draft meetings.

He asks them what his name is.

According to the Tennessean, Robinson asked every one of the 30 players who came on official visits the team's facility before the draft the same question to ensure that they had done some cursory level of homework heading into the process.

"You see the beads of sweat forming on their faces," he told the paper, though Robinson did not disclose how many players failed the test.

The piece, which is worth your time, looks at the bigger meaning of Robinson's arrival and the potential for a winner in Tennessee but the anecdote about player preparedness is great. Robinson reportedly asks the players the question in his office, which is packed with stuff that has his name on it. As our resident truth teller Kevin Patra noted, any player who whiffs on that one should fire his agent on the spot.

Robinson's goal was to attract players that are cool under pressure and smart enough to know their surroundings. Sunday's game against the Vikings in Nashville will be the first indication of how far they've come.
