Three teams interested in trading for Roddy White

Could Roddy White finish his career in another uniform?

According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the lifelong Falcons wideout who recently opened up about his lack of targets this year, is drawing interest from at least three teams as we crawl closer to the trade deadline.

If wide receiver Leonard Hankerson picks up his play, that could lead to White possibly being traded in the upcoming weeks, Rapoport said on NFL Network's GameDay First.

While it seems hard to imagine White leaving what some feel is the best team in football right now, White was adamant about doing more than blocking in Kyle Shanahan's offense.

At the moment, White is basically third in the Falcons' progression on plays where he, Julio Jones and Hankerson are on the field together. Though Jones is now dealing with an injury, one week in the limelight is probably not enough to placate a wide receiver that is used to being targeted more than 100 times per season. At this point, he's on pace for 52 balls thrown in his direction -- by far a career low.

Trading for White, who has met with head coach Dan Quinn about the situation, won't be easy. He makes $5 million this season and Atlanta probably won't be interested in eating any of that remaining total given how much of a weapon White can be.

Like Larry Fitzgerald and the Cardinals had to do a year ago, White and the Falcons need to decide the best course of action. It's certainly dangerous to have a player of White's caliber drawing another team's third-best defender.

But would a receiver-needy team like Carolina or Baltimore (if they went on a run) at least pick up the phone and make a call?

Rapoport did not mention teams by name so White's future for now is left to the imagination, no matter how hard imagining him in another jersey might be.
