NEW YORK -- The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they have signed offensive lineman Matt Slauson, their sixth-round draft pick, to a four-year contract.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
Slauson, the first of the Jets' three draft picks to sign, is expected to add depth and versatility on the offensive line. The 6-foot-4, 340-pounder has practiced mostly at right guard, where he started during his senior season at the University of Nebraska.
Slauson also has experience playing at both tackle spots.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez, the fifth overall pick, and running back Shonn Greene, a third-round pick, haven't signed yet, but they are participating in organized team activities this week.
The Jets waived cornerback Tyron Brackenridge, a two-year NFL veteran who signed with the team in February.
