Ryan Tannehill takes reps at Miami Dolphins practice

It looks like the playoff-contending Miami Dolphins should have their starting quarterback available this week against the Indianapolis Colts.

Ryan Tannehill took first-team reps in the portion of practice open to the media in Miami on Wednesday, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. Tannehill suffered a hyperextended left knee and deep thigh bruise last week against the New York Jets. Backup quarterback Matt Moore finished out the game.

We've heard some suggestions in Miami that the Dolphins would be better off with a veteran running the show. To this, we say: Watch the tape. Tannehill already is better than plenty of NFL starters out there. He's playing at a high level and will only get better.

Tannehill and the Dolphins head to Indianapolis on Sunday for what should be a fun matchup of surprise AFC contenders with rookie quarterbacks who simply aren't playing like rookies.
