Rutgers WR Leonte Carroo suspended indefinitely

The off-the-field headaches of the Rutgers football team continue.

A week after the program dismissed five players following arrests in a string of home invasions, Rutgers coach Kyle Flood said that wide receiver Leonte Carroo -- an all-Big Ten selection in 2014 -- has been suspended from the program due to an incident outside the stadium after Saturday's 37-34 loss to Washington State.

"Leonte Carroo has been suspended from our program as a result of an incident that happened last night outside our stadium that's currently under investigation," Flood said. "Until that investigation concludes I'll have no further comment."

Flood did not indicate the specifics of the postgame incident.

Carroo accounted for 55 receptions for 1,086 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2014. Through two games this season, he had seven catches for 181 yards and three touchdowns, with all three scores coming in a 63-13 win over Norfolk State on opening weekend.

UPDATE: Carroo was arrested and charged with simple assault under domestic violence, according to the Rutgers University Police Department.
