LOS ANGELES -- Former NFL running back Ottis Anderson won't be listed as a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the league after what his representative and a lawyer handling the case call a misunderstanding.
Anderson was one of 75 retired players named in the suit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The suit contends the NFL concealed information about the danger of concussions for decades.

Jason E. Luckasevic of the Pittsburgh law firm Goldberg, Persky & White said in an email Friday that "appropriate measures are being taken at this time" to remove Anderson and his wife as plaintiffs.
Anderson's representative, Van Adams, told The Associated Press that Anderson spoke to the firm once but never agreed to be involved in the suit and was surprised to see his name on it. Luckasevic said "a misunderstanding was made regarding Mr. Anderson's intentions."
The MVP of Super Bowl XXV for the New York Giants in 1991, Anderson released a statement Friday through the NFL Alumni Association denying he was involved with the suit.
"As the New York alumni chapter's former president, my concern is with the players," he said. "I think there are more constructive ways of finding solutions to the issues we face than litigation."
