The Steelers interviewed Carnell Lake, once a five-time Pro Bowl safety for the team, for their vacant secondary coach job Wednesday, the *Pittsburgh Post-Gazette* reported.
The position has been open since Ray Horton left to become the Arizona Cardinals' defensive coordinator.
Lake had 25 sacks, 17 fumble recoveries and 16 interceptions during 10 seasons in Pittsburgh (1989-98). He also spent one season each with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens.
Lake coached at UCLA in 2009.
And in an expected move, offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has signed a one-year deal to return for the 2011 season, the *Post-Gazette* reported Wednesday. Arians has held the position since 2006.
