Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley has encountered no setbacks with the left knee that landed him on injured reserve last season, coach Mike Shanahan said in a news conference Sunday.

Cooley is no longer dealing with swelling in the knee following workouts, Shanahan said.
Four-year veteran Fred Davis has emerged as the team's starting tight end, but a return by Cooley would provide competition and much-needed depth at the position.
Cooley caught eight passes in five games in 2011.
Shanahan said that Cooley is not the only player with improved health -- Santana Moss is also healthier heading into the 2012 season, the team announced via its offical Twitter feed.
