Mark Andrews isn't leaving Baltimore any time soon.
The Ravens agreed to a three-year, $39.3 million extension with the franchise's all-time leading receiver that includes $26 million guaranteed, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported on Wednesday.
The team announced the extension shortly after news first broke.
“We are excited and proud to announce a three-year contract extension with Mark Andrews,” Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said in a statement. “Mark is an all-time Raven -- a top competitor and Pro Bowl tight end who is also a big part of our Baltimore community.”
Andrews was in the final year of a four-year, $56 million deal he signed ahead of the 2021 season before agreeing to this latest extension.
Thanks to the looming end of that contract, Andrews had been a topic in the Ravens news cycle for nearly a year. He was considered to be both a cut candidate for salary-cap savings and a trade chip in proposed deals during the offseason, and his name circulated in trade rumors again with Baltimore struggling out of the gate in the 2025 season.
Ultimately, the Ravens weren't going to let him leave Charm City. With this extension, Baltimore locked up Andrews -- owner of three Pro Bowl nods, one All-Pro honor, 473 career receptions, 5,862 yards and 56 receiving touchdowns over eight seasons -- to a deal that suggests he may retire with the team that selected him in the third round of the 2018 draft out of Oklahoma.
After setting the franchise record for receptions in Week 11, it's only right he's spared an offseason of uncertainty in exchange for security with the team he's helped propel to success since hs rookie season.
His draft classmate, quarterback Lamar Jackson, is likely elated to learn his favorite target is staying home. What that means for the other (younger) tight end in Baltimore's offense, Isaiah Likely, and his expiring contract remains to be seen.
