Steven Jackson was limited in practice Wednesday, and the St. Louis Rams are hopeful the running back will have a larger role this week.
Coach Steve Spagnuolo said Wednesday that Jackson was not at full speed but had improved from a right quadriceps injury sustained on his first carry of the year. He wasn't cleared to play until the day before Sunday's 37-7 loss to the Ravens and had only four carries for 23 yards.
Quarterback Sam Bradford, who practiced despite a toe injury, was pleased with how Jackson looked.
"You don't see him out here a lot on Wednesdays," Bradford told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "Anytime he's out here Wednesday practicing, especially the way he looked today -- he looked great, he looked fast, he looked like himself -- that's definitley going to be big for us."
Wide receiver Danny Amendola switched to a more substantial brace to protect a dislocated left elbow that's sidelined him for two games and caught passes in individual drills. Amendola was hopeful he'd be ready this week against the Washington Redskins.
"I'm ready to get back out there for this week," he said. "I expect to play, but I expected to play last week, too."
