Raiders are ahead ... in race to land first overall pick

When is a loss not really a loss? For the Jets, that would go back to the opportunity to land the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft.

The Jets rushed for nearly 300 yards on Monday night and still fell to the Dolphins, an almost impressive feat that dropped their record to 2-10. With four games to play, New York is tied with the Jaguars, Buccaneers and Titans for the second-worst record in football.

Unfortunately for Jets fans, their team's pungent brand of stink probably won't be good enough to land the first pick. So says the sports analytics website NumbersFire.com, which offered projections on which NFL cellar-dweller will hit the podium first next April.

The Raiders are football's lone one-win team, and a 52-0 loss to the Rams this past Sunday tells us they may have the goods (those goods being very, very bad) to finish 1-15. The race to the bottom is on.
