Quick Take: St. Louis rules Missouri

It was over when
St. Louis quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick tossed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Marques Hagans in the third quarter for a lead the team would never relinquish.

Game ball
Fitzpatrick completed 10-of-16 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. St. Louis also had a pair of receivers who had nice games, Hagens (four receptions, 53 yards and a touchdown) and Dane Looker (five receptions for 45 yards). Nobody on the Chiefs side was particularly impressive, but Kolby Smith did rush for 64 yards on seven attempts, the bulk coming on a 55-yard run.

Key stat
Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle lost the starting quarterback position, more than Damon Huard won the job. Croyle did nothing to erase that notion as he completed only one pass for 15 yards in limited duty. But maybe Croyle has a future as a running back as he rushed for nine yards, only three yards shy of Larry Johnson's total, who rushed for 12 yards on three attempts in his return. The key though, was to make sure that Johnson got a few carries, but did not get hurt.

Noteworthy
Former Chiefs' kick return specialist Dante Hall did not return a kick or punt against his former team. ... St. Louis offensive lineman Todd Steussie broke his left foot in the first half.
