Jay Cutler is still adjusting: The Bears' new quarterback displayed his strong arm on some throws but appeared a little hesitant on others. Cutler went three-and-out on his first drive, threw an interception on his second and nearly had an underthrown pass picked off on his third. He finished 5-of-10 passing for 64 yards.
The Bears need to protect the ball: Cutler was the least of Chicago's problems when it came to turnovers. Backup QB Brett Basanez threw as many interceptions (three) as he did completions. He also lost a fumble before redeeming himself with a late touchdown pass. When all was said and done, the Bears committed five turnovers.
Trent Edwards is getting comfortable in the no-huddle: A few linemen were seen with their hands on their hips, but the Bills' fast-paced offense appeared to suit Edwards well. He looked decisive while completing all 10 of his pass attempts, and he even scampered for a 14-yard gain off a well-executed play-action bootleg. The same goes for Edwards' backups -- Ryan Fitzpatrick, Gibran Hamdan and Matt Baker -- who combined for 186 yards on 19-of-24 passing.
