Quarterback quandaries highlight Week 1 audibles

So you've drafted your team, you've scoured the waiver wire and you've probably made a trade offer or two. Now it's time to put look at the Week 1 schedule and figure out who you're rolling with to begin the season. That's where Fantasy Football Audibles comes in. You give us your dilemma, we give you answer. Onward!

By the time the season ends, Romo and Stafford could lead the league in pass attempts. Stafford mans the NFL's most QB-friendly attack, while Romo plays for a team whose defense might be the league's worst. The difference between the two players in Week 1 could have to do with their respective opponents. Although it's not what you think. The Giants weren't awful against fantasy quarterbacks last season and look to be about the same on paper. But while the 49ers were one of the NFL's best defenses, a rough offseason has led to some key pieces being unavailable for the start of the year. The game between the Niners and the Cowboys could turn into a track meet. That bodes very well for Romo in Week 1.

Last year, Pierre Thomas was New Orleans' top running back and led all rushers in receptions with 77. As a reward, he starts this season behind Mark Ingram on the Saints depth chart. Meanwhile Eddie Lacy is the undisputed No. 1 back for Green Bay and is expected to have an even larger role in the offense as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. Lacy probably won't catch 77 balls this year, but he'll see far more touches as a runner than Thomas will. Don't worry too much about the matchup with the Seahawks. Lacy could find his numbers a little depressed in Week 1, but there's a reason you likely spent a first-round pick on him. Trust the guys you drafted early.

An interesting choice to say the least. Clay was a low-end TE1 last season, but Ertz is drawing rave reviews from observers around the Eagles. With the tight end position in turmoil, it's tempting to look at a young player with upside. But I'd wait until you can actually see how Ertz is going to be used in a game situation. For the time being, rolling with the more proven commodity is probably a wiser decision.
