Bears rookie safety Major Wright was fined $10,000 by the NFL for a helmet-first hit on Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joe Webb during the fourth quarter of Monday night's 40-14 victory, the *Chicago Tribune* reported, citing a league source.
Wright was penalized for unnecessary roughness on the play, which -- along with a penalty against Webb for a low block -- negated a 59-yard interception return by Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher.
Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfieldwas fined $7,500 for a helmet-first hit on Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, in addition to $10,000 for a uniform violation, during Monday's game, according to the St. Paul Pioneer-Press.
Wright was asked Thursday if he would appeal the fine. His reply, according to the Tribune: "Why not? What do I have to lose."
