For football fans in the spring, anything is possible.
For Eagles fans in the spring, that means believing in the arrival of 2015 first-round pick Nelson Agholor.
In two seasons, Agholor has 59 catches for 648 yards and three touchdowns. One of the last remnants of the Chip Kelly era, Agholor fared better a season ago under new head coach Doug Pederson -- though nowhere near the expectations of a top-tier starter.
"As I've said all along, competition, man, sharpens you," Pederson said, via ESPN.com. "And that's what I've seen from Nelson. He's done a great job already this spring."
Added Agholor himself: "I think I was worried about taking such a large leap in a day. It's all about getting better consistently each day, even if it's just a little bit. Some of the best players in this league, they didn't just become really great the first day they're there. It took a process and continuous progression every day, so that's my focus right now."
I remember watching Agholor in the 2015 preseason make a play against the Colts that defied my expectations. While that has yet to materialize, the raw potential is still there. This system should be a little friendlier to receivers -- and way more forgiving.
The question now is time. During training camp, Agholor's window will start closing fast. Will he make enough plays to keep it open?
