Football fans have a soft spot for watching big dudes doing non-big dude things.
Case in point: Vince Wilfork, the 325-pound Patriots nose tackle who corralled a Philip Rivers pass on Sunday and took off for beautiful, wondrous daylight.
Wilfork was eventually dragged down after a 28-yard return. Slow motion replays might have better uses, but we can't think of one right now.
The Pro Bowler's heroics were played on a constant loop on Sunday night, but Wilfork didn't get a chance to see it himself until film study on Monday.
"When I got to that play, I slowed it down," he told The Associated Press on Thursday. "I wouldn't lie to you, I looked at it just a couple times."
As would we, big man. As would we.
Wilfork isn't the only Patriots big man to provide entertainment via a long return. Last season against the Packers, offensive lineman Dan Connolly nearly took a squib kick to the house against the eventual Super Bowl champs. Almost as fun as the return itself was hearing Al Michaels hyperventilate during the call.
