Patriots sign free agents Scott, Cole

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - The New England Patriots have signed defensive end Trevor Scott and cornerback Marquice Cole.

The team announced the free agent signings on Monday.

Scott, a sixth-round draft choice by Oakland out of Buffalo in 2008, spent four seasons with the Raiders. He started 16 of 58 games in which he played, and had 13 1-2 sacks.

Cole, undrafted by the New York Jets out of Northwestern in 2009, started one of 37 games he played there in three seasons, and had two interceptions.
