Patriots' Brady plays entire game despite arm injury

MIAMI -- Tom Brady was coy about what happened when he went to the locker room in the first quarter Sunday with an arm injury.

"I had to come in here and get some stuff taken care of," the Patriots quarterback said after a 22-21 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

The pains are accumulating for Brady, who came in against Miami with right shoulder and finger injuries. He threw two interceptions in the final 10 minutes, but Brady declined to blame health issues.

"There are a lot of guys who are banged up," he said. "I don't think many guys are 100 percent. It's late in the year. It's a physical game. You've still got to go out and get the job done."

Coach Bill Belichick wasn't inclined to use Brady's injuries as an excuse, either.

"He played the whole game," Belichick said.

The latest injury occurred when Brady took a hit as he threw a 58-yard touchdown pass to Randy Moss. While Patriots teammates celebrated, Brady trotted off the field and kept going, vanishing through the tunnel.

He returned five minutes later, and following a Miami punt he was back in the game. Brady finished 19 for 29 for 352 yards and two scores.
