Oregon TE Pharaoh Brown suspended for throwing snowballs

A snowball fight wouldn't have been enough to make the list of offenses resulting in Delta Tau Chi being placed on double-secret probation, but it will cost Oregon tight end Pharaoh Brown a chance to play in the Alamo Bowl against Texas.

Brown has been suspended one game by Ducks head coach Mark Helfrich for throwing snowballs at cars, the Oregonian reported Monday.

A video published by the Daily Emerald showed Brown and other football players and students bombarding cars and drivers with snowballs last Friday. The incident was the offshoot of a snowball fight organized by Oregon players through social media after a storm dropped nearly seven inches of snow on the Eugene, Ore. campus.

A 6-foot-6, 241-pound sophomore, Brown had 10 receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns in nine games this season. Brown took on an increased role after Colt Lyerla left the team in October to begin preparations for a professional career.
