The No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft is signed and sealed.
Quarterback Cam Ward signed his four-year rookie contract with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday. He is the first top-five selection of the '25 class to sign.
As with every other first-round contract, Ward’s has a fifth-year option.
The Miami product is now ready to go for his first pro campaign, aiming to learn head coach Brian Callahan’s offense and claim the starting job.
Though it’s presumed Ward will take the Titans’ starting reins, no announcement has been made. First-year general manager Mike Borgonzi emphasized the team’s belief in competition during Tennessee’s post-draft news conference and Callahan stated that Ward and Will Levis would be splitting reps at workouts.
Ward was a statistical wonder in his one and only season at Miami, leading the nation with 39 passing touchdowns, 9.5 yards per attempt and a 172.2 rating to go with 4,313 passing yards and a 67.2 completion percentage.
Ward became the first quarterback taken in the first round by the Titans since Marcus Mariota was selected No. 2 overall in 2015.
Aiming to lead the turnaround of a club that was 3-14 last season and has posted three straight losing campaigns, Ward can now focus solely on on-field work.
