NFL Research: Adrian Peterson's injury history

With Adrian Peterson announcing that he intends to make his return on Sunday against the Colts, NFL Research takes a look back at AP's injury history.

Adrian Peterson's injury history

Peterson has missed 20 games in his career due to injury -- not including the 15 games he missed in the 2014 season (child abuse scandal).

2016:  Missed 11 games (torn meniscus)

2013:  Missed two games (foot)

2011:  Missed four games (three with high-ankle sprain and one with torn ACL)

2010:  Missed one game (thigh)

2007:  Missed two games (torn LCL)

How does Peterson's absence affect the Vikings?

Record with Peterson: 64-57-1

Record without Peterson: 15-20 (5-6 this season)

NOTE: In the Mike Zimmer era, Minnesota is 14-5 with Peterson and 11-15 without Peterson.

-Peterson played in the first two games of the season and rushed for a total of 50 yards on 31 carries (1.6 yards per carry). That marked the first time since Peterson's rookie season that he rushed for fewer than 50 yards in two-straight games.

-Peterson's offensive coordinator, offensive line and quarterback are all different than they were at the start of the 2016 season.
