  • QB Justin Herbert, who suffered a metacarpal fracture on his left hand in Sunday's win over the Raiders, believes he can play next Monday night versus the Eagles, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Herbert is scheduled for a procedure on Monday afternoon, per head coach Jim Harbaugh.
  • RB Omarion Hampton (ankle; injured reserve) remains on track and is close to returning, but the team will let the week play out before determining his activation this week, per Harbaugh.

  • WR Jalen McMillan (neck; IR) could also be returning to practice this week, per Bowles. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that McMillan will be returning to practice soon after suffering a neck injury in the preseason.

COACHING NEWS

  • David Blough will be elevated to QBs coach for the rest of the season, head coach Dan Quinn announced. Blough takes over for Tavita Pritchard, who was hired by Stanford to become head coach of Stanford.

  • QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) is still not cleared for contact and will probably not hear any official word until Friday, Quinn said Monday.
