NFL approves stadium renovations in Washington and Cleveland

The NFL owners have approved funding for renovations at Cleveland's FirstEnergy Stadium and Washington's FedEx Field at the NFL Fall Meeting, a league source told NFL Media's Albert Breer.

The funding from the league will come in the form of a waiver of revenue contributions from club-seat premiums, The Washington Post reported.

Breer reported on NFL Network that the Browns will receive $62.5 million, while the Redskins got $27 million.

The FedEx Field renovation includes WiFi, seating modifications and Hall of Fame expansion, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Washington Post on Monday.

The Redskins released this written statement from general manager Bruce Allen today at the NFL Fall Meeting about the stadium renovation funding for FedEx Field: "We appreciate the NFL teams approving our continued plan on improving the fan experience at FedEx Field."
