Some call Joe Montana the greatest quarterback of all time.
He won four Super Bowls with the 49ers during an era when the game was less generous to quarterbacks -- at least, less pass-happy -- and helped to redefine the position.
Montana's place in history is up for debate, of course, but as the Hall of Fame signal-caller watches what Aaron Rodgers is doing this season in Green Bay, there's a sense everyone might need to step aside.
"The (season) he's having right now is pretty phenomenal," Montana told "The Dan Patrick Show" on Friday. "I'm not sure I had one like that."

"I don't think so," Montana said. "From my understanding, the way the numbers are going, I don't think anyone has."
Montana admitted it would be a "lot more fun" playing in today's NFL, but said that playing quarterback at this level will never be easy.
Still, making it look easy is what Rodgers has done since Week 1. He's thrown for 39 touchdowns and just six interceptions in leading Green Bay to 13-0. He's in line to shatter a string of Packers single-season passing records and enters Week 15 with a 123.3 passer rating.
It's undetermined how we'll remember Rodgers 20 years from now, but, by all accounts, he's history in the making.
