Michigan State star quarterback Connor Cook didn't play in the Spartans' stunning upset of Ohio State on Saturday.
Cook, one of the nation's top senior quarterbacks, was knocked out of last week's MSU win over Maryland with a shoulder injury and was described as a game-time decision in the hours before kickoff. An MSU spokesman told the Detroit Free Press that Cook was technically available if needed for emergency duty, but he did not see any game action. Spartans coach Mark Dantonio said after Saturday's win over OSU that he thinks Cook will be back next week in the regular season finale vs. Penn State.
Cook had started 36 consecutive games for MSU.
Quarterback Tyler O'Connor started for the Spartans, and No. 3 QB Damion Terry also saw time under center.
Cook warmed up prior to the game and remained in uniform on the sideline.
