LSU offensive lineman Josh Williford's career could be in jeopardy after he suffered a severe concussion Thursday during practice.
According to The Times-Picayune, the 6-foot-7, 334-pound senior was unconscious for several minutes after impact. Williford missed the last seven games of last season with concussion issues, making Thursday's setback cause for a serious re-evaluation of his football future.
Williford, a left guard, had been projected as a starter this season for the Tigers. When healthy, his play can be a catalyst for LSU's inside power rushing attack. Freshman Jonah Austin is among the possibilities to replace Williford until, and if, he is able to return.
