Lions yet to give update on Jahvid Best's concussion

No news isn't good news for Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz told the media there's still no word on Best, who underwent more post-concusssion tests last week, the Detroit Free Press reported. Best began the season on the physically unable to perform list, but he was believed to be close to a return.

Schwartz, who is notoriously secretive when it comes to injuries, said, "I'm really not in the loop when it comes to the decision." Schwartz might not be involved in the decision, but it's hard to believe he hasn't been apprised of the situation. Schwartz did said Friday that a decision was expected to be made Monday.

Best hasn't played a down since Oct. 16, 2011 and was plagued with concussion issues in college. Best's likelihood to return to the field takes a hit every time one of these evaluation checkpoints passes without any positive news.
